A New Symphony
Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth, Texas recently took steps to join other Keller ISD schools in creating an orchestra program to run alongside their already established band program, which will start in the fall of 2021. With their new group, they wanted a sophisticated logo that would lend itself to applications like merchandise and handouts.
The request of client was to have a connection to string instruments and the falcon that is used as the TCHS logo. To accomplish this, I tried to create a forced connection between a violin and bird, and I found this fit neatly in utilizing the wing of the bird to form the delicate lines of the instrument in different places.
After the thumbnail phase, I digitally modified the logo into a vector image that could be used in a variety of places, as well as created a lockup with the signature typeface of TCHS that could be alternatively used in some cases. This logo has versions in black and white, as well as alternative purple and gold editions to be used in cases where it would need to match the colors of the already in use school logo.
