Mistimed Misdirected Misfortune

Voertman’s 61st Annual Art Competition - Featured Work

This piece was a commission for a client needing a last minute design depicting a time traveling Jack-elope. Pieces like these that give me freedom to illustrate fun ideas and weird concepts are my favorite, and I’m always looking for opportunities to take on more strange illustration prompts.

Roll For Initiative

Showcased in the CVAD Facility Walkthrough in Fall of 2019

This piece was the product of a four layer reductive woodcut block print for a relief printmaking course in the fall of 2019. The work was inspired by my love of dungeons and dragons and gave me the opportunity to try carved line art with the added texture of the wood for visual interest.

For The Fallen

This was a piece created for a screen printing course in the fall of 2020. It was created with 4 layers of ink with various amounts of opacity, as I wanted to create depth within the scene. Solid forms of line art are something I almost always include in my pieces, though through this method it was not as possible as I first imagined. Simplifying the lines into bulkier shapes gave me a bolder image that I was quite happy with in the end.

Pet Portrait Commissions

I have offered painted pet portraits both traditionally and digitally during the holiday season since 2017. In March of 2020 I also offered portraits in return for donations made to Black Lives Matter organizations and charities, which raised over $100 in the span of a month.

Sketchbook Studies

These images are a portion of studies of three dimensional pieces from the Museum of Modern Art. These started from an assignment in a sketchbook summer course, but I continued these prompts as an exercise in images studies, scale, and rendering.
